How we work

Many of our bespoke projects require that the materials are cut to size. We have dedicated machinery to ensure a rapid turnaround. Our skilled templaters will attend site after the substrates are completed. We will then use plastic templating sheets or digital templating tools to template bath surrounds and vanity tops. Additionally if you are confident in producing your own templates we can cut from drawings or CAD files.

The cost of bespoke stonework can vary depending on factors such as the type of stone used, the complexity of the design, and the size of the project. While bespoke stonework may be more expensive upfront compared to pre-made options, many clients view it as a worthwhile investment due to its unique craftsmanship, customisation options, and its individuality.

Common types of stone used in bespoke stonework include marble, granite, limestone, sandstone, slate, and travertine. Each type of stone offers unique characteristics in terms of colour, texture, durability, and suitability for different applications.

The size of the project will determine the length of time it takes us to manufacture a bespoke item. Most individual items, such as a bespoke sink will normally take 2-3 weeks to produce. For larger projects the timescales will be discussed during the pre-manufacture meetings.

The process typically begins with a consultation between the client, designer and ourselves, to discuss the client’s vision, requirements, and preferences. From there, the designer creates detailed plans or sketches, which are then refined in collaboration with the client. Once the design is finalised, we will start the process of selecting the materials and once selected begin the fabrication process, which will involve cutting, shaping, carving, and finishing the stone. Finally, the bespoke stonework is installed at the designated location.

A few simple checks can prevent many problems on installation. Access is very important some of the bespoke items can be very tricky to get into properties, second we need to check the substrate is solid and can take the weight and third, ensure the plumbing is all correct. It can prove very costly to change a top once installed.
