We Design and Create Your Bespoke Natural Stone Fireplaces
Here at Love Stone, we work with private clients to create the highest quality bespoke fireplaces, and we work closely with designers and architects for multiple solutions to residential and commercial properties.
We can help you design your bespoke fire surround and offer you comprehensive input into the design and materials. Once drawings are signed off, we select the materials. Choose from our outstanding collection of stone to reflect the character of your home or business.
Most fireplaces and fire surrounds require one full slab of stone or marble for the manufacture; we have hundreds of slabs and blocks in stock to choose from. When production usually takes about three weeks to manufacture your bespoke surround.
Bolection Bespoke Fireplaces
At Love Stone, we manufacture bespoke bolection stone fire surrounds in-house. Bolections are hand carved from solid blocks of stone using simple designs and by allowing the natural material to highlight the shape of the fireplace.
The attention to detail in the moulding and simplicity of the foot blocks create a cohesive look that adds sophistication to the overall appearance of the fireplace surround.
With our technical skill we pride ourselves on being one of only a few companies in the UK that can produce bolection fire surrounds, which cuts down on huge lead times from Italy and China. Our sawyers know how to cut the stone so the veins run through the legs; our masons know how to carve and sand the stone to create a tactile surface.

Modern Marble and Limestone Fireplace and Fire Surrounds
Some of the most striking bespoke fire surrounds are created with modern design in mind. We manufacture from a range of both slabs and from solid blocks of natural stone including marble, limestone, slate and granite to create surrounds that are sometimes very large and imposing, but bring essential character and warmth.
Through beautiful design and skilled workmanship, limestone fireplaces and marble designs produce an elegant and sometimes gravity defying effect to the room decor wherever they are situated.

The cost of bespoke stonework can vary depending on factors such as the type of stone used, the complexity of the design, and the size of the project. While bespoke stonework may be more expensive upfront compared to pre-made options, many clients view it as a worthwhile investment due to its unique craftsmanship, customisation options, and its individuality.
Common types of stone used in bespoke stonework include marble, granite, limestone, sandstone, slate, and travertine. Each type of stone offers unique characteristics in terms of colour, texture, durability, and suitability for different applications.
The size of the project will determine the length of time it takes us to manufacture a bespoke item. Most individual items, such as a bespoke sink will normally take 2-3 weeks to produce. For larger projects the timescales will be discussed during the pre-manufacture meetings.
The process typically begins with a consultation between the client, designer and ourselves, to discuss the client’s vision, suitable requirements, and preferences. From there, the designer creates detailed plans or sketches, which are then refined in collaboration with the client.
Once the design is finalised, we will start the process of selecting the materials and once selected begin the fabrication process, which will involve cutting, shaping, carving, and finishing the stone. Finally, the bespoke stonework is installed at the designated location.
A few simple checks can prevent many problems on installation. Access is very important, as some of the bespoke fire surrounds can be very tricky to get into properties. Additionally, we need to check the substrate is solid and can take the weight and third, ensure that if gas is required, it is all correct. It can prove very costly to change once installed.
